Anónimas Viticultoras is the project of winemakers Cris Yagüe Cuevas and Maria Falcón. Based in Rias Baixas, where Cris has made wine for many years, and where Maria's family has done so for generations. In Cris' words, “Anónimas is a project from the vine to the consumer, a tribute to the anonymous women that should have had their place in history and were never recognized. We collaborate with other vinegrower women to make these personal wines.”
Os Dunares is a 100% Albariño coming from the Northernmost part within the Salnés Valley, a place called Penamogueira. Here, ripeness take almost a week more than the rest of the places within this sub-region as it's cloudier and fresher. Cris & María sourced the fruit from vineyards that are 300m-400m away from the Ocean. Vineyards that are bathed by the morning Atlantic fogs in the morning, thus adding an incredible iodine and salty character to this wine. This Albariño was made entirely in stainless steel but, prior to fermentation, they've done almost 2 days of skin maceration under dry ice. The wine aged 8 months on its lees. Expect an Albariño that is citric (lemon verbena, mandarine) and floral (chamomile, hay), with a very dynamic and vertical mouthfeel. Salnés' pure essence!
