In 2009, Michel Chapoutier - a renowned wine producer from the Northern Rhône, picked out a plot in the Douro Valley. A small – very small – plot of 3 hectares, but full of promise: Eleivera.
 
Convinced of the region’s potential to produce great terroir-driven wines beyond the traditional Port wine culture, the project was established in the Cima Corgo area near Pinhão, in the village of São João da Pesqueira. A small cellar was completed in 2014, allowing for a focused and highly artisanal production of around 30,000 bottles per year.
 
This is made entirely with Touriga Nacional, which was harvested early to preserve energy and balance rather than power alone. Made entirely in stainless steel. Elegant and expressive, revealing aromas of violets, wild berries, bramble, and mulberry, intertwined with balsamic herbal notes, pine, and graphite dust. The palate is energetic and flavourful, combining concentration with freshness and structure.
