The Mahara brothers made two single vineyard labels called Albur and Dorada. Both are made entirely vinifying the same variety (Palomino) in the exact same way (aging in an amphora under a thin veil of flor).  The idea of having both listed in our shop is to showcase how two wines from the same vintage are so different from each other due to the differences in the exposition of each vineyard.
 
Dorada is sourced from a 95-year-old vineyard located in Pago Mahina. Still Atlantic-influenced but it's a bit more protected from the Ocean by 3 pagos, as Mahina is a bit more inland. The resulting wine will be more pronounced in ripe aromas, and more textural. It's beautiful to compare them side by side to experience how terroir shapes each one's character.
