Xavi and Cristina Bernet had always been farmers in the region of High Penedes. In 2003 they decided to take over Xavi’s grandfather’s vineyards and produce their own sparkling wines, stopping to sell the must to the local Cava cooperatives. Since 2019 they belong to Corpinnat not being part of Cava anymore. 11 wineries from Cava joined forces together exiting the DO and approving their own regulations to make their own quality sparkling wines by following certain rules: They need to be organic farming certified, they need to work with their own vineyards (in Penedés), and the wine has to undertake at least 18 months.
 
U Brut Nature 2020 vintage is a sparkling wine made of Xarel.lo grape following the traditional method. 20 to 90-year-old Xarel.lo vines growing on calcareous soils at an altitude of 300-400 meters. The wine was disgorged in March 2023 after the wine has stayed 27-ish months on its lees. Expansive with a creamy texture, the bubbles are very fine and delicate, really focused on the purity of its fruit and the mineral character.
