Xulia Bande is Ribeiro's Grand Dame. She has been one of the leading voices for the recovery of the historical vineyards sites and Ribeiro's indigenous varieties since she was in her twenties. A path that wasn't at all easy (a winery lost to the fire almost broke he dream once), but here she is, a true fighter crafting some of the most elegant and fine wines this historical region can give.

This Son de Arrieros Añadas is her personal vission of what the Ribeiro is. Keep up with us, the process is not the simplest one, but the result is rewarding. Xulia has vines in all the 3 valleys that give life to the Ribeiro region. She recovers the ancient tradition of crafting reds in the area mainly with this varieties: Ferrón, Sousón, Brancellao, and Caíño Longo. Every year, she releases a vintage red to the market. However, she doesn't release all of it as she always keeps a tank to be aged longer. That leftover wine is moved into a barrel for a year or two, and then moved back into a stanless steel tank to wait until she considers that she needs it. After some time, she blends 3 vintages together to create her finest wine, the quintessential Ribeiro. The perfect balance, her vission of what those old Ribeiro wines once were. This particular cuvée blends 2016, 2019, and 2021 together.

Expect a wine that it's concentrated on the fruit (forrest fruits, plums), with seductive herbal nuances (eucalyptus, bayleaves, fern, Padrón peppers), wild flowers, and subtle earthiness. In the mouth it is precise, vital, silky, and incredibly elegant. Truly unique. One for you to try and stock in your cellar as it'll be one of the classics of tomorrow.
